A Fun Germ Experiment, Virtual Tidepools, and an Obstacle Course!

April 6, 2020 by Katie Paulding

As we start another week of shelter-in-home, I wanted to share several ideas for activities!

Hands-On Science Experiment: See how “pretend germs” stick to your fingers and how soap “scares” them away!  Watch this TikTok video by HayesEarles(@hays1) for inspiration!

You will need the following materials: bowl, water, pepper, liquid soap, towel to dry hands.

Virtual Science Exploration: Explore Tidepools and Ocean Habitats!

Monterey Bay Aquarium has great activities and resources for exploring tidepools and other ocean habitats for all grade levels!

Outdoor Fun: Sidewalk Chalk Obstacle Course

I saw this great activity as a Facebook post by Michele Gambrel, whose friend is an occupational therapist.  This is a great idea for kids and adults alike!
